Proof

How a Toronto tree-care company got marketing it can finally trust

The hard part isn't spending on ads: it's knowing which marketing channel actually books jobs. Whether you're chasing your first #1 ranking or scaling past it, most tree-care companies are optimising on numbers that never reconcile to real work. Here's what that looked like for one company, and what we did about it.

Meet Tree Doctors Inc.
The Problem

They'd taken quotes from several outside agencies: roughly £1,700–£3,400/month, and passed each time, because none would flex spend down for the slow winter months.

Even a market leader was flying on numbers it couldn't fully trust; proof the problem isn't your size, it's your measurement.

What we found, and what we fixed

What was quietly costing them money

  • Paying for enquiries that never happened. The tracking was counting the same enquiry more than once: one phone tap logged as three calls, web forms counted twice, so the ad platform saw two to three times more leads than actually rang in, and it kept spending harder to chase a lead count that was mostly duplicates.
  • Budget on the wrong searches. A big share of spend sat on loose keyword matches that rarely turn into jobs.
  • Invisible where jobs get booked. #1 in Google's blue links, but barely showing in the local map pack, where a lot of "tree surgeon near me" calls actually come from.
  • A plan no one could see. Good ideas, scattered across spreadsheets the owner couldn't take in at a glance.

The Solution ArboScale Delivered: what we fixed in the first 30 days

  • Stopped the leak. Found where the ad budget was bleeding and mapped the fix, so every future pound rides on numbers that tie to real booked jobs, not an inflated dashboard.
  • Turned a year of bookings into a plan. 10,000+ CRM lead requests became a simple month-by-month calendar: when to push, hold, and pull back.
  • Put it all on one screen. A dashboard the owner actually reads, instead of buried spreadsheets.
  • Started telling one-off jobs from repeat customers. Began tracking which enquiries are one-off call-outs and which are likely to come back, so spend can lean towards the customers who build long-term value, not just the next single job.
The Outcome, and the base we're building on

This is the account we inherited: already climbing on the back of solid earlier groundwork and the start of peak season. Our job is to make gains like this repeatable and provable, instead of pure luck.

Real results

The numbers moved – and we could prove it.

Revenue shown indexed to keep the company's figures private; all numbers are real booked leads from the CRM, not platform clicks. Monetary figures converted from Canadian dollars at £1 ≈ C$1.75. This window is also the start of the busy season, so some of the lift is seasonal: the truer test is holding these gains right through peak (May–July) and into the quiet months.

"They measure what I actually care about: booked jobs, not clicks, and it all reconciles back to the CRM we already run."
– Yuriy S., the Owner @ Tree Doctors Inc.
